CHAUMONT sur LOIRE : The castle overlooking the Loire and the internationally renowned garden festival.
CHEVERNY : The castle which inspired Hergé to draw the castle of Moulinsart (exhibition on Tintin).
CHENONCEAU: The most visited of the Loire castles, a magnificent "ladies' castle".
The royal city of BLOIS and its castle, also rich in history.
The castle of CHAMBORD, an architectural marvel of the Renaissance, in the heart of the Sologne, is a must and is only 35 kms away.

In the high season, we recommend lesser-known but very interesting castles nearby: FOUGÈRES sur BIÈVRE, a seigniorial residence from the end of the Gothic period, GUÉ PÉAN, TROUSSAY, which is the smallest of the Loire castles, VILLESAVIN called the "Chambord building site", LE CHÂTEAU DU MOULIN near Romorantin or CHEMERY.
Not forgetting MONTRICHARD and its medieval dungeon, 10 km from us. On the way, you can discover the abbey of PONTLEVOY, where a classical music festival is held in summer.
A little further away but very accessible during the day, you will have the possibility to visit VALENCAY, Talleyrand's castle, VILLANDRY and its magnificent gardens or AZAY le RIDEAU, a jewel of the Renaissance. This will be an opportunity to drive along the beautiful roads of the Cher or Indre valleys.
